A little bit political this post :-)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4949270.stm

Labour is facing a "meltdown". I don't think they are. They are facing cataustrophic splits because of the Blair/Brown fight. A meltdown implies everyone is at each other's throats about something and new fights are occuring all the time - this isn't happening.

What is happening is the rift is now extending perpendicular to the main one - Labour is literally cracking up.

I can only hope this happens at an accelerated rate and they fall apart before the next election.

This would mean that the Torys would have (finally) a shot at Government; for the sake of sanity, please no one vote Tory. From the article;

"Tory leader David Cameron urged Tony Blair to ... create a new homeland security minister so the home secretary could sort out the prisoners "mess"."

WTF? The Tory's suddenly go on holiday to the USA and get brainwashed? IMO, voting the Torys in is like gleefully marching over a cliff. [on an aside, www.davethechameleon.com is supposedly funny, but none of the streams work properly in Linux, so sod em ;-) ]

In other news, I've got a cold/fever thing and its fluctuating between ok and bad. This weekend is gonna be fun.
To all the Linux news people; who really cares if Linux is making headway in government/schools/desktop/SOHO/business? I don't. I'm more interested in what new stuff people have come up with, not whether or not people are choosing their OS, its old news.
The new Yahoo Mail Beta really sucks on old comps or slow net connections. Just crashed my XSession [thank god for Livejournals autosave :-) ]

Might play HL2 later. I didn't get to play it yesterday as Steam wouldn't let me :-( Must check later for that.

CHECK! after many months of listening to CD's with no repeat/back skip/random and sitting in the living room using my HDD-less laptop on the net or borrowing yarmez cable I know have sound and internet back!

This is a brilliant feeling :-) sam is back in his natural habitat of the net accompanied by the noises of his music directory.

Half Life2 playing into silly hours of the morning are on the horizon I fear [garrys mod with onslaught ... mustn't .... do that ...... NOW!]

-----------

Many apologies, but due to sam difficulties, this post has been cut short. More later [after I've dropped enough dead slightly mutated biomatter to kill a normal person] ;-)

"Hurray for academia, let's share our knowledge with mankind."

Sage words from the hippygeek :-)
Something me and Ben must sort is the problem we have with our work we do whilst at Uni but which is seperate to our Uni course work. We could be at a situation where everything we do is the Uni's property [which IMO is a load of bull]

I was at work last night [booo] where I picked up a cold/fever/something that caused general aching and dizzyness. Thankfully it has mostly gone now, but it has meant I've got to do a report tomorrow [I'm praying the printers are all working at the department]

Must remember to do my student loan form, else I'll be in the same situation as last year [no money and Uni chasing me to pay the tuition fees :-S]

Just heard a new advert on Virgin Radio [ yes steph I am listening to the radio :-O ] about buying original HP printer cartridges for "better printing performance"; just them trying to squeeze money outta you really [ ~£30-£40 for an HP, £20 for a cheapo/refilled one? yeah, HP everytime ]

The sun is out and I'm cheerful. :-)

Back in Brum Weds for work, work fri sat off :-) Looking forward to my £140 pay check this wed :-D

I'm working 4 nights this week at snobs (wed, fri, sat, sun) so I can't get back to lichfield until next week at the earliest [must ask for next wed off to get back to lichfield and see people :-) ]

I might get to actually playing HL2 on my desktop in the near future [many many many problems with software], get a sound card and network cable so I can get lapwing-linux running again and into a useable state and a replacement fan for the CPU [still godamn overheating]

Not seen steph in a few weeks, missing her a lot already [and she's on holiday this week in madrid too] :-(

Roll on after exams ...
